I hope you haven’t forgotten that The Queen turns 85 this week? (well we’re at least celebrating it this week!).

April 21 is in fact the H.M’s true day of birth & if you thought that she’d be enjoying that slice of birthday cake accompanied by a glass of her favourite German white wine, you’d be mistaken.

QE2 works on her actual birthday as April 21 is Maundy Thursday, an important date for her as Head of the Church of England.

Choosing to celebrate in style with The Trooping of the Colours ceremony which falls this coming week-end, QE2 prefers to blow out her candles in the warmer months hence why we party in June.

So, as we all enjoy a few Guinness & chow down on some Bangers & Mash this Queens Birthday long week-end may we suggest that you don’t post your party invite on Facebook as did a girl in Germany who ended up with 1500 uninvited guests! Oops….
