GO TROPICAL FOR LESS THAN $500!

Sipping a ‘colada, slapping on the Coconut Reef, slipping on a sarong….Dreaming of Fiji, Tahiti or The Maldives? The credit card says ‘no’!

We’ll bring it to you on a budget. Tropical is the new black & some very simple, very cost effective decorations are turning bland homes into island hideaways reaping massive rewards when selling &/or leasing. It’s really as simple as creating a dream like environment, with very little fuss on a tight budget that could potentially put tens of thousands of dollars in your pocket.

1.      An oversized vase with banana leaves from your local florist is an easy, super cheap way to glam up any room & will display just the right amount of the tropics to set the scene

2.    If you’ve got any type of outdoor space, some inexpensive cane chairs can be picked up generally for a bargain on Ebay or Gumtree. Thrown on some green & white scatter cushions & you have an inspirational & inviting look. Woven baskets, hung on walls also creates a tropical oasis feel with an eclectic mix of textures.

3.    To create a dreamy feel for the bedroom, white linen always works a treat, match it with bright scatter cushions & it becomes striking mix. Cane bedheads are stunning. Throw in a powder blue bedside lamp = bliss. Add a canopy over the bed!

4.    Glam up an average bathroom & create a tropical, inviting feel. A shell chandelier is an awesome addition & while not everyone’s taste, it certainly works well amidst white features including some fluffy white towels. Go on-line you’ll be shocked what you can find. Target has some incredibly cheap bathrooms accessories & they are stunning. Rattan storage baskets with a fern thrown in add a touch of greenery & tropical glam creating a beautiful bathing space. Change your shower curtain & finish off with hand picked shells from the beach!

5.    Tropical wallpaper/wall decal is SO cool & can be very affordable. These small changes will truly make a huge impact. Select a word or phrase than ties in with relaxed look of your new environment for a unified look.

6.    Bamboo, birds of paradise, ferns, palms – they’ll all add to the relaxed feel. Thrown a little of something in every room!

7.    Throw a woven or palm leaf patterned rug on the floor in your lounge room, see it come to life!

8.    Replace an ugly ceiling with woven bamboo

9.    Fans with wicker or rattan blades are absolutely stunning, functional & cheap to run. You’ll be shocked how inexpensive they are!
