Yes 1st homies…..we’re talkin’ to you! Grab the $7k grant while you still can as come 1/10/12 if you’re looking to buy a pre-owned property you won’t be entitled to the government grant anymore.

You’d have to mad not to grab the cash ‘n run……..$7000 DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the facts folks:
1. $7,000 grant will increase to $15,000 from the 1st of October 2012 and will only be available to those purchasing a new property. (i.e. never been occupied or sold).

2. The grant will drop to $10,000 on the 1st of Jan 2014

3. First home buyers purchasing an established or pre-owned property will no longer be entitled to the grant. (note: contracts entered into before Oct 1st are valid under the previous scheme)

4. The new scheme will only apply to first home buyers who purchase or build a new home valued at up to $650,000

From July 1st the transfer duty exemption cap on new homes increases to $550,000 with duty concessions for new homes valued between $550,000 and $650,000 (sliding scale) This means that a first home buyer purchasing a new owner occupied property for $550,000 could receive a combined benefit of $35,000

 But wait, there’s more!!!

Home Buyers and Investors

From July 1st  2012, a new $5,000 grant will be provided to buyers of new homes, whether off the plan or newly built, with a value up to $650,000 and to buyers of vacant land that is intended to be the site of a new home valued up to $450,000. The grant is targeted at all non-first home buyers and is available to investors as well as owner occupiers. The grant will be administered through the transfer duty payment process.
